Taylor Swift will be joined by Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Sam Bush, bassist Edgar Meyer and percussionist Eric Darken for a special version of her hit song "Red" for her appearance on next month's Country Music Association Awards.   Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will co-host the ABC broadcast live from Nashville, Tenn.   The show airs live on November 6th on ABC.

Alison Krauss was recently diagnosed with a vocal condition called dysphonia.  Alison has been advised to have vocal rest, and therefore will not be performing at Wide Open Bluegrass next weekend. We anticipate a smooth, quick recovery given proper treatment and adequate rest. The “epic collaboration” performance will continue with the previously announced superstar lineup of Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Béla Fleck, Del McCoury, Tony Rice and Mark Schatz. Tickets for Friday’s schedule are nearly sold out; it was announced last week that no tickets remain for Saturday’s shows at the Red Hat Amphitheater/Raleigh Convention Center. The Grand Ole Opry® presented by Humana® honored Alison Krauss on her 20th anniversary as an Opry member last week at the Wednesday Night Opry with performances by Krauss and Union Station, bluegrass great Larry Sparks, multi-award-winner Jamey Johnson, and more. Krauss was inducted as an Opry member on July 3, 1993. Following performances by Krauss and Union Station and collaborations with Johnson and Sparks, Opry Vice President and General Manager Pete Fisher honored the 20-year member with a commemorative print and words about her career. “Alison truly is the artist’s artist,” Fisher said. “She is looked up to by some of the finest performers in the music industry as truly the best. … For those of us who are destined to go to heaven, you give us a sneak peek of what an angel sounds like.”

Barry Bales will be performing a series of dates this year with an extraordinary group of musicians and friends. Noam Pikelny from Punch Brothers on banjo; Bryan Sutton - the first-call recording session ace on guitar; Ronnie McCoury from the Del McCoury Band on mandolin; and Luke Bulla from Lyle Lovett’s band on fiddle. Many great Nashville based artists lend their talents to songs written by patients at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt through its Music Therapy Program. Everybody Has a Story is a CD that celebrates the patients’ creativity and shows how music can be a vehicle for healing. Each song was a result of a clinical music therapy session involving the patient and a music therapist. Everybody Has a Story was released on May 14, 2013 and is available on iTunes HERE. Alison Krauss and Jerry Douglas, to host "Cross County Lines" on Saturday June 1st at Liberty Hall  in Franklin, Tennessee.

Krauss and Douglas will host and perform at the premiere event with special guests Shawn Colvin, Amos Lee, Sarah Jarosz, Angel Snow and Teddy Thompson for what is sure to be a memorable night of music.  In addition to the aforementioned artists, a triple scale house band of Gabe Dixon, Shannon Forrest, Viktor Krauss, Andy Leftwich and Bryan Sutton will perform throughout the evening with all of the artists.
All proceeds benefit the Americana Music Association.  Tickets on sale Friday, April 26 at www.americanamusic.org with seating at $65 per ticket and General Admission at $45. Premier seating to those purchasing patron tables.

Alison recently took part in an amazing tribute honoring the musical legacy of Ron Davies. Ron is best known for having written "It Ain't Easy" for David Bowie's album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and "Long Hard Climb" for Helen Reddy and Maria Muldaur. His songs have been recorded by a host of iconic artists including Long John Baldry, Joe Cocker, Joan Baez, Three Dog Night, Dave Edmunds, Anne Murray and Steppenwolf's John Kay, to name a few. Proceeds from this tribute will benefit The W.O. Smith Music School and provide musical instruments and lessons to underprivileged children. The tribute is due out March 25, 2013. Alison Krauss and Union Station feat. Jerry Douglas wrapped up the Paper Airplane Tour earlier this week in Sonoma, CA. They were the first non-classical performance in Weill Hall at the recently completed Green Music Center. Nothing will ever sound better than inside this hall. The awards show will be held Sept. 27 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. (L-R) Alison Krauss & Union Sation members Jerry Douglas, Alison Krauss, Ron Block, Dan Tyminski, Barry Bales, and engineers Neal Cappellino, Mike Shipley, and Brad Blackwood Alison Krauss & Union Station have a lot to celebrate this week, with two Grammy awards for "Paper Airplane" in the Best Bluegrass Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical, which was given to the sound engineers of the album. Mike Shipley and Neal Cappellino were honored for their work as the primary engineers and Brad Blackwood from Euphonic Masters was awarded for his role as the mastering engineer.  Over the years, these individuals have worked with everyone from AC/DC, to Maroon 5, to Del McCoury, to Vince Gill.  All three were instrumental in the making of Paper Airplane, and we're thrilled with their win.

More updates to follow soon. Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas will be performing at Keith Urban's "We're All For The Hall" benefit concert to be held at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, January 18th.  The All for the Hall fundraising campaign addresses the not-for-profit, Country Music Hall of Fame's need to support its work preserving the enduring beauty and cultural importance of Country Music.  This work is accomplished through ongoing exhibit schedules, scholarly publications and hundreds of school and family music programs annually. Other performers on the all-star lineup include Keith Urban, Vince Gill, The Oak Ridge Boys, Rascal Flatts and Little Big Town, with additional artists to be added. Reserved seat tickets, priced at $25 and $35 (plus service charges), will be available at 10 a.m. CT on Dec. 2 via TICKETMASTER. A limited number of VIP ticket packages will also go on sale the same day.
