Alison Krauss & Union Stationfeaturing Jerry Douglas are set to criss-cross the country this summer on a nationwide tour eventually taking them to over 50 cities. Their last go around saw raves from critics who witnessed “Krauss and Union Station induce awe with their musical virtuosity...pangs of heartache with their ballads of disillusionment and, most significantly, the giddiness that results from hearing a familiar tune played well."(Chicago Sun Times) It is with great pleasure that they announce their live return with a nationwide tour, set to kick off in Louisville, KY on June 4th.
On April 12th, 2011 Rounder Records will release the eagerly anticipatedAlison Krauss and Union Station album, Paper Airplane. A truly breathtaking collection of 11 exquisite songs, Paper Airplane is Krauss’ 14th album and the band’s follow-up to 2004’s triple Grammy® winningLonely Runs Both Ways.

The Grammy award-winning bassist demonstrates the style and technique he employs with Alison Krauss and Union Station.
Barry Bales has been among the most celebrated upright bassists in bluegrass and country music the past 20 years. He has multiple Grammy awards, plus trophies from the International Bluegrass Music Association and the Country Music Association. His bass is featured in recordings from Alison Krauss and Union Station where he is the full-time bass players, and in films like Walk The Line and O Brother, Where Art Thou.
In this two hour and 20 minute DVD, Barry shares his thoughts on the appropriate role of the bass, and demonstrates many of the techniques that have made him a first call musician in both bluegrass and country music. AcuTab’s John Lawless leads Barry through a discussion of his background and influences before they move on to songs. Barry also covers important topics like tone production, walking bass, percussive ‘ghost’ notes, and more.Read More

Please be aware that we have learned that some ticket sales websites are incorrectly advertising that Alison Krauss will appear and perform with Dan Tyminski at the B.B. King Club in New York City on May 23, 2010.
Alison is not and never was scheduled to appear and perform with Dan at the B.B. King Club show. We have attempted to contact these ticket websites and have them remove the mistaken advertisement.
As her fans all know Alison has the highest regard for Dan and she has no doubt that Dan and his musical guests will put on a great show. It’s just that Alison was never scheduled to be a part of that show and does not want ticket buyers to be misled to believing she will appear in the show.Read More
